Job Summary:
Micro1 is seeking an Operations Research Specialist to join their team remotely. The role focuses on leveraging expertise in operations research and C programming to develop advanced optimization solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement mathematical and optimization models in C for solving complex operational challenges such as passenger itinerary optimization, logistics, and resource allocation.
• Analyze large datasets to uncover inefficiencies and deliver actionable, evidence-based recommendations for process improvement.
• Design, validate, and test algorithms and simulation models using robust computational and statistical methods.
• Collaborate closely with business leaders and stakeholders to understand objectives, gather requirements, and translate goals into effective optimization projects.
• Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations to communicate findings, model results, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay current with developments in optimization methodologies and C programming best practices, continuously enhancing analytical models and tools.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of professional experience in operations research, modeling, or optimization roles.
• Strong proficiency in C programming for the development of mathematical and optimization models.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze large, complex datasets and distill actionable insights.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on clarity and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity while proactively collaborating with a diverse team.
Preferred:
• Experience in transportation, logistics, or resource allocation optimization within a dynamic business environment.
• Proficiency in additional programming languages or optimization tools (e.g., Python, Gurobi, CPLEX).
• Published research or practical solutions in the field of operations research.
